The smearing steps and methods of thermal conductive silicone grease
The smearing steps of LED thermal conductive silicone grease are as follows:
1. First, clean the surface of the LED radiator with high-purity solvents such as high-purity isoamyl alcohol or acetone and flannel-free cloth (such as cloth for lens cleaning).
2. Determine the contact area between the LED lamp and the radiator, and squeeze enough thermal conductive silicone grease into the center of the region.
3. Use clean tools such as razors, credit card edges or clean knives to pick up a little heat conducting silicone grease and transfer it to the corner of the radiator core (such as the lower left corner). Note that only a small piece is enough, about half the size of a grain of rice.
4. Put your finger in a plastic bag, then rub the heat conducting silicone grease on the bottom of the radiator with your finger until the heat conducting silicone grease evenly spreads over the whole contact area. Clockwise and anticlockwise motion can be used to ensure that the thermal conductive silicone grease can fill the gap and uneven place at the bottom of the radiator.
(Note: Do not apply it directly with your fingers!)
5. Wipe off the heat conductive silicone grease at the bottom of the radiator with flannerless cloth. At this time, we can see that the area coated with the heat conductive silicone grease at the bottom of the radiator is different from other areas in color, indicating that the heat conductive silicone grease has evenly filled the gap in the base.
6. Using razor blades or other clean tools, start from the corner of the radiator core, coat the whole core with heat conductive silicone grease evenly. The flatter the surface to be contacted, the thinner the need for high temperature thermal conductive silicone grease. For ordinary radiator bottom, the thickness of thermal conductive silicone grease is about the thickness of a piece of ordinary paper (0.003-0.005 inches). If the radiator bottom is bright and flat, the thermal conductive silicone grease can be thin to translucent.
Before smearing, attention should be paid to:
It is forbidden to dilute with silicone oil. Otherwise, it will not only cause oil separation but also reduce the thermal conductivity. Therefore, it is suggested that customers first choose the suitable model to ensure the quality of the product.
It should be stored in a clean and cool place to avoid contact with dust; heat conductive silicone grease should be fully stirred before use to achieve better results; silicone grease should be uniform, no bubbles, no impurities, as thin as possible when applied on the surface of the object.
